Special Weather Statement issued July 5 at 12:57AM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX At 1256 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Knollwood to near Bogata. Movement was south at 30 mph. HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Strong thunderstorms will be near... Sherman, Bonham, Honey Grove, Bells, Savoy, Ector, Roxton, Dodd City, Knollwood, and Valley Lake around 100 AM CDT. Howe, Whitewright, Tom Bean, Dorchester, and Randolph around 110 AM CDT. Cooper, Big Creek Lake, and Sulphur Bluff around 115 AM CDT. Van Alstyne, Trenton, Cooper Lake, Klondike, and Cooper Lake State Park around 120 AM CDT. Leonard, Gunter, and Wolfe City around 125 AM CDT. Commerce, Anna, Celeste, and Saltillo around 135 AM CDT. Sulphur Springs, Melissa, and Lake Sulphur Springs around 140 AM CDT. McKinney, Celina, and Campbell around 145 AM CDT. Other locations impacted by these storms include Charleston, Westminster, Neylandville, Lake Creek, New Birthright, Ida, Ridgeway, Pacio, Nobility, and Forest Hill. This includes Interstate 30 between mile markers 82 and 142. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
