Flood Watch issued June 20 at 12:09PM CDT until June 21 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Hastings NE * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of north central Kansas, including the following counties, Jewell and Mitchell and Nebraska, including the following counties, Adams, Buffalo, Clay, Fillmore, Franklin, Greeley, Hall, Hamilton, Howard, Kearney, Merrick, Nance, Nuckolls, Polk, Sherman, Thayer, Valley, Webster and York. * WHEN...From 7 PM CDT this evening through Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Saturday evening into Sunday morning, at least a few rounds of thunderstorms with heavy rainfall are likely within the Watch area. Portions of the Watch area are expected to receive at least 1 to 3 inches of rain in a fairly short time this evening and overnight, on top of as much as 1 to 3 inches of rain that has already fallen or will yet fall during the daytime hours Saturday in parts of the area. As a result, 24 hour total rainfall by sunrise Sunday could end up being as high as 2 to 6 inches. As a result, at least localized flooding or flash flooding issues are expected. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Clay County in south central Nebraska... Southern Fillmore County in south central Nebraska... Southeastern Hall County in south central Nebraska... Southwestern Hamilton County in south central Nebraska... Northeastern Nuckolls County in south central Nebraska... Northern Thayer County in south central Nebraska... * WHEN...Until 600 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 145 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that as much as 1 to 3 inches of rain has already fallen today, or yet will fall in parts of the Advisory area within the next hour. As a result, mainly minor flooding is likely ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the Advisory area. Fortunately, very little additional rain is expected through most of this afternoon into early evening, which should allow excessive runoff to gradually recede. However, additional heavy rain is possible this evening and overnight, which could result in additional flooding issues. - This includes the following streams and drainages... South Fork Big Sandy Creek, Beaver Creek, Little Sandy Creek, Big Sandy Creek, Walnut Creek, Dry Sandy Creek, Pawnee Creek, School Creek, Buffalo Creek, West Fork Big Blue River, Turkey Creek and Flat Creek. - Some locations that could experience flooding include... Harvard, Clay Center, Edgar, Fairfield, Shickley, Glenvil, Davenport, Bruning, Trumbull, Alexandria, Inland, Carleton, Ong, Belvidere, Strang and Hansen. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
