Flood Watch issued September 24 at 1:36AM MDT until September 24 at 6:00AM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...From the Sangre de Cristo's eastward to Texas, Santa Fe Metro, Central Highlands, and Guadalupe County. * WHEN...Until 6 AM MDT early this morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rounds of showers and storms will continue through tonight. The heaviest rainfall will focus over the northeast plains where rainfall rates up to 1 inch per hour may occur. Rain will generally be lighter further west, but briefly heavy rates cannot be ruled out as far west as the Santa Fe Metro area and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Additional rainfall amounts tonight will range from 0.5 to 1.5 inches. - Rapid runoff and flash flooding will be most likely in complex terrain, below recent burn scars, low-lying areas, urban areas, normally dry arroyos, near rivers and streams, and in locations where the ground is already saturated from recent heavy rainfall. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
