Southeastern Dona Ana County in south central New Mexico... Northwestern El Paso County in western Texas... * Until 730 PM MDT. * At 640 PM MDT, a wall of dust was along a line extending from 9 miles south of Santa Teresa to near Sunland Park to near Central El Paso to near Socorro, moving north at 30 mph. HAZARD...Less than a quarter mile visibility with strong wind in excess of 50 mph. SOURCE...Doppler radar. IMPACT...Dangerous life-threatening travel. * This includes the following highways... Interstate 10 in New Mexico between mile markers 161 and 164. Interstate 10 in Texas between mile markers 1 and 36. Locations impacted include... West El Paso, Central El Paso, East El Paso, Northeast El Paso, Far East El Paso, Mission Valley, Chaparral, Santa Teresa, Anthony, Sunland Park, Anthony Gap, Canutillo, San Elizario, Westway, Fort Bliss, Vinton, Socorro, La Union, Chamberino, and Union Pacific Intermodal Terminal. Dust storms lead to dangerous driving conditions with visibility reduced to near zero. If driving, avoid dust storms if possible. If caught in one, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep your foot off the brake. Motorists should not drive into a dust storm. PULL ASIDE STAY ALIVE!

Heat Advisory issued June 7 at 2:30PM MDT until June 9 at 6:00AM MDT by NWS El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa NM * WHAT...High temperatures of 104 to 107. * WHERE...Eastern/Central El Paso County, Rio Grande Valley of Eastern El Paso/Western Hudspeth Counties, and Rio Grande Valley of Eastern Hudspeth County. * WHEN...Until 6 AM MDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Child Abduction Emergency issued June 6 at 11:08PM MDT by NWS El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa NM CAEEPZ THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE IS TRANSMITTED AT THE REQUEST OF THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY. The Denton Police Department is searching for missing child Dominic Burgos, 4 years old, White, Male. The missing child was last seen at 3:00 PM, on June 3, 2024 in the 3800 block of Canyon Verde Lane, Denton, Texas. Police are looking for Selena Grasty, 40 years old, White, Female, in connection with the abduction of the child. The suspect is believed to be driving a gray 2015 Dodge Dart bearing Texas license plate T K K 5 5 3 1. The suspect was last seen in Denton, Texas. LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS BELIEVE THE CHILD TO BE IN GRAVE OR IMMEDIATE DANGER. Anyone with information regarding this missing child should contact the Denton Police Department at 940-349-7970. Special Weather Statement issued June 7 at 6:25PM MDT by NWS El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa NM At 625 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 5 miles northeast of Fort Bliss to 3 miles northwest of Central El Paso to 5 miles south of Sunland Park to 16 miles south of Santa Teresa. Movement was north at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Blowing dust may reduce visibility Locations impacted include... West El Paso, Central El Paso, East El Paso, Northeast El Paso, Far East El Paso, Mission Valley, Santa Teresa, Anthony, Sunland Park, Canutillo, Westway, Fort Bliss, Vinton, La Union, Socorro, Union Pacific Intermodal Terminal, Biggs Field, Fort Bliss Northeast, and Franklin Mountains State Park. This includes Interstate 10 in Texas between mile markers 1 and 34. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
