Flash Flood Warning issued June 5 at 2:06AM CDT until June 5 at 4:00AM CDT by NWS Topeka KS FFWTOP The National Weather Service in Topeka has extended the * Flash Flood Warning for... Brown County in northeastern Kansas... * Until 400 AM CDT. * At 206 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 6.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Hiawatha, Horton, Everest, Fairview, Robinson, Powhattan, Hamlin, Willis and Kickapoo Reservation. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Flood Watch issued June 5 at 1:26AM CDT until June 5 at 4:00AM CDT by NWS Topeka KS * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of northeast Kansas, including the following counties, Brown, Jackson and Nemaha. * WHEN...Until 4 AM CDT early this morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Thunderstorms with excessive rainfall have already produced 3 to 7 inches or rain. Any additional rainfall could make any flooding worse. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
