Flood Warning issued June 21 at 8:02AM CDT until June 22 at 7:30AM CDT by NWS Sioux Falls SD * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is ongoing. * WHERE...Portions of northwest Iowa, including the following counties, Clay, Dickinson, Lyon, O'Brien, Osceola and Sioux, southwest Minnesota, including the following county, Nobles, and southeast South Dakota, including the following counties, Lincoln, Turner and Union. * WHEN...Until 730 AM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Several structures are flooded and some sand bagging operations are continuing. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 801 AM CDT, Emergency management reported heavy rain had occurred and flooding is already occurring. Between 2 and 7 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 4 inches are possible in the warned area over the next 24 hours. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Sioux Falls, Sioux Center, Sheldon, Canton, Sibley, Rock Rapids, Beresford, Parker, Harrisburg, Tea, Rock Valley, Hull, Lennox, Sanborn, George, Centerville, Worthing, Larchwood, Inwood and Viborg. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Widespread heavy rain is expected Friday evening through Friday night. Storm total rainfall may reach 2 to 4 inches in many locations with potential for higher amounts.
